About this fundraiser
The Shooting Star Scholarship was created to reduce barriers to music education by providing private music lessons for students who might not otherwise be able to afford them. We believe every student deserves the opportunity to explore their musical potential, regardless of their financial situation. Named for Danny 'Harry' Borgelt's favorite song, Shooting Star, the scholarship honors his memory and legacy. Danny passed away in 2022, shortly after the inception of Two Grand Studio, and this fund carries the light of his life forward by helping young musicians shine. The Scholarship Fund supports students in two ways: 1) Year-Long Scholarship: One student each year will be selected to receive a full year (August-July) of weekly 30 minute private lessons. At no cost. Applications are accepted from May 1st through June 30th, with the recipient being announced on July 14th. 2) Hardship Support: Current students experiencing unexpected financial hardship can request short-term assistance throughout the year. Every dollar of this fund goes directly toward tuition assistance. $800 fully funds one student’s weekly 30-minute lessons for the 2026–27 studio year. We also aim to have additional funds on hand to support current students facing short-term hardship so they can continue their current lessons without interruption.
